Detective Simmons:  Good morning, Mr. Clarke. Thank you for coming to give your testimony. Please start by telling me exactly what you were doing near the old church early this morning.

Anthony Clarke:  Good morning, detective. I usually walk my dog, Buster, every night. This morning was no different. We left around 02:45 and followed our usual route along Willow Street, which passes near the old church.

Detective Simmons: At any point during this walk, did you notice anything unusual?

Anthony Clarke: Yes, around 03:00, maybe a few minutes after, I noticed a faint light coming from inside the church. That immediately caught my attention because the place has been abandoned for years and never has any movement or lighting.

Detective Simmons: What was your reaction when you noticed this light?

Anthony Clarke: I got curious and approached slowly. The main door was slightly open, which I found strange, as it's usually closed or blocked. I decided to carefully enter to check what was happening.

Detective Simmons: Mr. Clarke, describe exactly what you saw when you entered the church.

Anthony Clarke: At first, I thought someone was sleeping or resting. But as I got closer, I noticed the blood and realized the person wasn't moving. The body was lying on the altar in a very strange position. I was in shock.

Detective Simmons: How do you explain that your fingerprints were found near the victim's body?

Anthony Clarke: I got close to check what was happening, but I didn't touch the body. Maybe I accidentally touched something nearby without realizing it. I swear I did nothing else.

Detective Simmons: Let's get straight to the point, Mr. Clarke: how did you kill Emma Collins?

Anthony Clarke: What? I would never do something like that! I just found the body! I swear, I didn't hurt her! Please, you have to believe me. I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, that's all!

Detective Simmons: If you did nothing, why do you seem so nervous?

Anthony Clarke: Of course I'm nervous! I found someone dead! Wouldn't you be nervous too? I have nothing to hide, please believe me.

Detective Simmons: Alright, Mr. Clarke. Thank you very much for your testimony. We'll contact you again if we need to.

Anthony Clarke: Of course, I'll be here to help. I just want you to find out who did this to that girl.

Additional Notes:

Anthony Clarke showed elevated nervousness after direct questioning but did not provide substantial contradictions. Discreet monitoring of his activities is recommended due to the nervousness displayed during more incisive questions.
